Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Training

Training information

This training aims to give a jump-start on PIC technology from a fabless manufacturing perspective.

Industry experts - from imec, Luceda Photonics, Synopsys, JePPIX, Tyndall National Institute, VLC Photonics and Europractice - will present tutorials and seminars on the technology, and hands-on training on PIC design flow. 

Please note, that this is a physical course and it is not possible to join online.

Why join?  

Experts-led seminars: One-day technology overview seminars by experts from the PICs industry.
Hands-on training: Two-day design training with leading EPDA tools: Luceda Photonics and Synopsys.  
Technical knowledge: Learn about the latest advancements and how to do simulations, design and generate of mask layouts.  

Who should attend?  

• Suitable for both academic and industrial participants.
• A background in photonics is useful, but not required.
• Option to attend only the seminars or the complete three-day training with hand-on sessions.

Training details:  

• Part 1 - February 25:
One-day of seminars on PIC basics and fabless manufacturing and MPW services.

• Part 2 - February 26-27:
Two-days of hands-on training on EPDA tools and PDKs.
